Ken Graham’s experience as Production Manager, Site Coordinator and consultant for ‘opening’ – stadiums, city squares, parks and open land for the first and second concerts, festivals and events in them – highlights:
1971 – first concert in Shafer Stadium (Patriots) in Foxborough, Ma – Power & Spots
1978 – Eagles outdoor tour thru Canada – first time an act toured with 3 stages leapfrogging in racetracks and stadiums – Production Manager
1981 – Rolling Stones American Tour in stadiums – first time Site Coordinator position is created
1882 – first US Festival, San Bernadino, Ca – Site Coordinator / Stage Manager
1983 – David Bowie’s Let’s Dance World Tour and videos – Lighting Director and Production Advisor. Plus first time using all local gear, including stages and roofs for concerts in Singapore and Bangkok stadiums – Lighting Designer / Director / Site Coordinator
1984 – Michael Jackson Victory Tour – stadiums – first time chairs on field – Site Coordinator
1990 – Rolling Stones Urban Jungle Tour – European stadiums – first in Prague and second in East Berlin.
Plus the IMAX filming of Steel Wheels in 3 stadiums – Site Coordinators Coordinator & Staging Coordinator
1991 – Monsters of Rock in Moscow – free concert for the youth of Moscow for 750,000 +. Ken was the first person on–site 17 days before show – confirmed site at an old military airfield, created layout, organized hotels and Visas for touring crews and for a last–minute large film crew, plus attended all official meetings with the promotor, Moscow’s Mayor and the Military. Taught Rock & Roll 101 to students who helped find – staffing, stagehands, equipment and facilities – Producer’s representative / Site Coordinator
1992 – Elton John – first concert in Azteca Stadium, Mexico City – Site Coordinator
1993 – Michael Jackson Dangerous Tour – second concert in Azteca stadium, Mexico City – Site Coordinator
1994 – Woodstock ‘94 – Winston Farm, Saugerties, NY – dealing with all vendors, Federal, State and local agencies plus budgeting, staffing, site layout, clean–up and restoration – Site Manager / Operations Group
1995 –Disney’s “Pocahontas” movie premier on the Great Lawn, Central Park, NYC – Assistant Technical Supervisor
1999 – Woodstock ‘99 – Air Force Base, Rome, NY – site layout, budgeting, staffing, plus dealing with all vendors, Federal, State, and local agencies. Became Project Director ‘pro–tem’ for the event
2002 – NFL Kickoff Concert – Times Square, NYC – Site Coordinator
2004 – Jimmy Buffett – second concert in Fenway Park, Boston – Site Coordinator
2005 – Jimmy Buffett – first concert in Wrigley Field, Chicago, second concert in PNC Park, Pittsburg and first concert in Citizens Bank Park, Philadelphia – Site Coordinator
2005–2014 – Multiple unique corporate events in Times Square, NYC from 42nd to 47th Streets and up on the Hard Rock marquee – Production Designer / Site Coordinator
2007 – Jimmy Buffett Live in Anguilla CD / DVD at the revitalized Dune Preserve, Rendezvous Bay. Enlarged existing venue, upgraded the stage, dressing rooms and VIP seating – Site Coordinator
2013 – Re–opened the Forest Hills Tennis Center Bowl for concerts – Site Coordinator
2013 – Luxor Lot, Las Vegas – the first iHeart daytime outdoor ‘Festival’ on the upgraded lot with a stage, sponsor tents, food, beverage etc. – on Saturday in between the Friday and Saturday night televised shows.
2016 to the present – Global Citizen Festival on the Great Lawn, Central Park, NYC – Production / Site Consultant
2018 – Global Citizen’s Mandela 100 Festival Johannesburg, South Africa – multiple acts plus Beyonce’s extremely large and complex production – Staging & Site Coordinator and one of the Event Producers
2021 – Global Citizen’s Vax Live – SoFi Stadium, Inglewood Ca – first concert/event with an audience. Due to COVID, several earlier football games had no fans in the seats – Site Coordinator
2023 – Jimmy Buffett – first concert in Snapdragon Stadium, San Diego – Site Coordinator
